TEUFLESBERG WINS $250,000 SOUTHWEST STAKES

In a front-running upset, TEUFLESBERG (Johannesburg -- St. Michele, by Devil's Bag) captured the $250,000 Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn Park on Monday. Under jockey Stewart Elliot, TEUFLESBERG set the early pace, led through backstretch, and finished with plenty left to hold off all challengers, including heavy favorite Hard Spun. With the victory, JOHANNESBURG remains the leading North American second-crop sire in worldwide earnings.
