Scat Daddy Wins G1 Florida Derby, Remains Among Kentucky Derby Favorites

Scat Daddy (Johannesburg -- Love Style, by Mr. Prospector) continued his march to the G1 Kentucky Derby by capturing the G1 Florida Derby on Saturday. The 3-year-old colt, with Edgar Prado aboard, stalked the leaders until the final turn, then made his move, prevailing over Notional in the stretch to win by 1 1/4 lengths. The victory was Scat Daddy's fifth in eight starts, and pushed his career earnings to more than $1.3 million.
