New Stakes-Winner for Grand Slam

11th June 2007

Improving filly Silence Dogood (3f Grand Slam – Crystal Vous, by Crystal Water) notched her first Black Type win when taking out the Babae Stakes at Belmont over seven furlongs on turf at the weekend.

Prepared by John Kimmel, she settled at the rear of the field and came wide on the turn with a powerful finish to win by a length and a quarter.

A $220,000 purchase from the 2006 Fasig-Tipton 2YO’s in Training Sale, Silence Dogood has won two races and placed three times from six starts for the Poor Richards Stable.

Bred by Foxfield, she is a half-sister to stakes-winner Silver Haze from stakes-placed Crystal Vous, a daughter of Group One winner Taisez Vous.

Silence Dogood is the 33rd stakes-winner for her sire Grand Slam, a Group One winning son of Gone West.
