Thunder Gulch, Fusaichi Pegasus Produce 1-2 Finish in Canada Day Stakes

Beshairt (Thunder Gulch -- Terra Cotta, by Rare Brick) and Empress Pegasus (Fusaichi Pegasus -- Empress Club, by Farnesio) finished first and second in the Canada Day Stakes at Assiniboia Downs on Sunday. Beshairt, well off the pace early, took over the lead at the eighth pole and held off a game Empress Pegasus in the stretch to win the one-mile contest.
