New Group Three Winner for Van Nistelrooy

Young Storm Cat stallion Van Nistelrooy continues to churn out winners all around the world and added a new Group Three winner in North America at the weekend when Elusive Lady (2f Van Nistelrooy - Song of Royalty, by Unbridled's Song) scored at Aqueduct.The John Kimmel trained filly made it two wins from three starts when she bolted away to win the Group Three Tempted Stakes over a mile by four and three quarter lengths.
A $US90,000 purchase from the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Elusive Lady is bred on the classic Storm Cat / Mr Prospector cross being from the Unbridled’s Song mare Song of Royalty, a daughter of stakes-winner Royal D’Or.
Elusive Lady becomes the seventh stakes-winner worldwide for Van Nistelrooy, who has made a sensational start to his stud career for a horse coming off a service fee of $US7,500.
Of his seven stakes-winners so far, four are from mares that carry the blood of Mr Prospector including his Group One winner Set Play.
Based at Ashford Farm in Kentucky, Van Vistelrooy shuttled to New Zealand for a number of seasons, brought to the Southern Hemisphere by a partnership of breeders including Chequers Stud, Curraghmore Stud, Fairdale Stud, Haunui Farm, Pencarrow and Trelawney Studs.
His Southern Hemisphere bred horses have contributed two of his stakes-winners with Vandalo scoring in Australia and Onceuponatime in Singapore.
