Fusaichi Pegasus, Lion Heart Colts Among Best at Calder Sale

27th February 2008

Colts by Fusaichi Pegasus and Lion Heart were among the top sellers at Tuesday's Fasig-Tipton Calder Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale. Hip 73, a Fusiachi Pegasus -- Silver Tornado colt, brought $1,000,000, the fourth-highest price of the day. Bred by March Thoroughbreds and consigned by Hoby and Layna Kight, the colt was bought by Eric Guillot. Guillot said, "He's the one I came to buy. He's by a pretty cool sire, has a good turn of foot and is very precocious." Shortly after, Hip 114, by Lion Heart out of V V S Flawless, brought the hammer down at $750,000, making him the seventh-highest colt of the day. Hip 114 was bred by Green Willow Farms and consigned by Scanlon Training Center. He was purchased by Sir Robert Ogden.
