Two Stakes in Two Days For Grand Slam at Fair Grounds
24th March 2008
Grand Minit (Grand Slam -- Minit Towinit, by Malagra) made it two stakes victories in two days for Grand Slam at Fair Grounds on Sunday when he took the Lagniappe Classic Stakes. The five-year-old gelding, never more than three lengths off the lead in the 1 1/16-mile test, angled to the outside for the stretch drive and won by a neck. The victory pushed Grand Minit's earnings to more than $245,000, and came just one day after Amazing Results (Grand Slam -- Ioya Two, by Lord At War) captured the Grindstone Stakes at the Lousiana track.
