Danehill Dancer 2YO to Head North
31st May 2008
Talented prospect Bhutane Dane (2g Danehill Dancer x Joleur, by Bite the Bullet) earned himself a ticket to the Brisbane Winter Carnival after scoring a dominant win in the open juvenile event over 1300 metres at Rosehill on Saturday.Improving from a debut second at the Kensington track on May 14, the Gai Waterhouse trained Bhutane Dane led throughout and never looked in danger as he coasted home to win by nearly two lengths.
“I had thought about taking him up to run in the Sires (Group Two QTC Sires Produce Stakes) today but he has now proved that he’s a T.J Smith (Group One WTC T’J. Smith Stakes, June9) horse,” Waterhouse said.
Bhutane Dane was secured by Gai Waterhouse for $360,000 at the 2007 Magic Millions Yearling Sale from the draft of Edinburgh Park Stud.
He is a half-brother to stakes-winner Gaze On being from the Bite the Bullet mare Joleur, a full sister to Group Three winner Mica’s Pride and Group Three placed Money Begets Money.
Danehill Dancer later made it a double at Rosehill when Che Casino (3g Danehill Dancer x Revised, by Personal Hope) won the Ratings 77 event over 2000 metres for the Chris Waller stable.
