New Stakes-Winner for Tale of the Cat

Tale of the Cat added yet another new stakes-winner to his ever increasing tally when Goodbye Norma Jean (4m Tale of the Cat x Norma’s Legacy, by Red Ransom) took out the Fern Sawyer Handicap at Ruidoso Downs.The Henry Dominguez trained mare took the seven and a half furlong contest by a nose in a tight finish, with more than four lengths back to the third horse.
Purchased for $140,000 at the 2005 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Goodbye Norma Jean has been stakes-placed three times previously and has the overall record of four wins and five placings from 11 starts earning $125,580.
She is from the Red Ransom mare Norma’s Legacy, who comes from the family of European Group One stars Sulamani and Dream Well.
Goodbye Norma Jean is one of seven North American stakes-winners for Tale of the Cat this year joining Group One winner Tale of Ekati along with Tytus, Meal Penalty, Ashley’s Kitty, Victorianna and Jolie the Cat.
