Cats Whisker Wins Again
12th July 2008
Promising filly Cats Whisker (2f Fusaichi Pegasus c Perfect Halo, by Don't Say Halo) took her record to two wins from as many starts when she scored by the best part of a length in the open juvenile event over 1200 metres at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
The Mark Kavanagh trained filly trotted in by four lengths on debut at Seymour on June 19 and had no worries making the jump to metropolitan company with connections indicating she would be entered for all the major fillies classics in the spring.
Purchased by her trainer for $250,000 from the Coolmore draft at the 2007 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Cats Whisker was bred by Mrs Joy Jenkins who elected to retain a share in the filly.
She is the third foal of stakes-placed Don’t Say Halo (USA) mare Perfect Halo, who produced a filly by Royal Academy (USA) last spring and was then covered by Dehere (USA).
Her yearling full sister to Cats Whisker was retained after passing in shy of her reserve at Magic Millions earlier this year and has been named Cat’s Pyjamas.
