Grand Slam Filly Graduates at Second Asking at Del Mar

Turtle Creek Babe (Grand Slam -- Cyclorama, by Theatrical) took a maiden special weight at Del Mar by a nose yesterday in her second career start. Bred by Ben Walden and Hargus Sexton and owned by Barnett Stables, Turtle Creek Babe was a game second in her debut at Hollywood Park in June. This time out, the 2-year-old filly rated down the backstretch and then swung wide as she headed for home, digging in to get up for the victory in the 5 1/2-furlong test.
