As with the tremendously successful Kingmambo, Fusaichi Pegasus is by Mr. Prospector out of a grand-daughter of Northern Dancer. Most of Kingmambo's Gr.1 winners are inbred to Northern Dancer, including Divine Proportions, Virginia Waters, El Condor Pasa, Russian Rhythm, Alkaased, Light Shift, Rule of Law, Okawango, Tawqeet and Voodoo Dancer. This suggests that mares by such as DIXIELAND BAND, EL GRAN SENOR, LYPHARD, NIJINSKY, NUREYEV, SADLER'S WELLS, STORM BIRD, THE MINSTREL and VICE REGENT will all suit Fusaichi Pegasus. Sure enough, his first crop has produced the Gr.1 winner Bandini from a Dixieland Band mare and the Belmont Stakes runner-up Andromeda's Hero from a Storm Bird mare. Fusaichi Pegasus also has several black-type performers out of daughters of STORM CAT and a stakes winner out of a STORM BIRD mare. NUREYEV sired the second dams of two of his Gr.3 winners, including Ravel.
Kingmambo has several top winners with NIJINSKY blood and the sires of the first two dams of Fusaichi Pegasus' black-type winners include NIJINSKY, GENEROUS, SEATTLE DANCER, SHADEED and BALDSKI. His $650,000 2007 yearling is out of a mare by Nijinsky¹s grandson Alydeed.
Fusaichi Pegasus has an Australian Gr.2 winner out of a mare by DANEHILL, which is inbred 3x3 to DANZIG. This 3x3 inbreeding to DANZIG also appears in his Gr.2-placed son The Roundhouse, out of a mare by BELONG TO ME. Fusaichi Pegasus owed his bright start in 2004 partly to mares by sons of DEPUTY MINISTER. He sired the Gr.1 winner Roman Ruler from a SILVER DEPUTY mare and the 121Ž2-length stakes winner South Bay Cove from a daughter of SALT LAKE. Roman Ruler is inbred 2x4 to Mr. Prospector and also has two lines of Northern Dancer. He has a $500,000 2007 yearling out of a DEPUTY MINISTER mare.
Mr. Prospector enjoyed considerable success with mares by stallions from the Nasrullah male line, including with daughters of BLUSHING GROOM, SEATTLE SLEW and SECRETARIAT. He also sired Gr.1 winners from mares by a son and grandson of NEVER BEND. Two of Fusaichi Pegasus' early black-type winners are out of SEATTLE SLEW line mares and Bandini's second dam is by SEATTLE SLEW. Now he has sired the Gr.3 winner Ravel from a daughter of A.P. INDY. More daughters of A.P. Indy are called for. Fusaichi Pegasus has a Gr.3 winner out of an IRISH RIVER mare.

Private Account's broodmare sire, BUCKPASSER, also had an outstanding record with Mr. Prospector. Buckpasser can also be found as the broodmare sire of EL GRAN SENOR, WAVERING MONARCH, SLEW O'GOLD, etc.
